2023 Phoenix players drawn doubles tournament, played 30th May at Riverway.
Congratulations to the winners, Pam & Graham and runners up Jenny & Peter
On Friday 12th. May, our members enjoyed a Fish & Chip Lunch, followed by entertainment by Julie A Scott from Liverpool. Julie’s repertoire included popular songs from the 1940’s to the 1990’s and a selection of songs from Last Night of The Proms. Many thanks to Patti who worked tirelessly and with such enthusiasm to arrange another successful event for our members.

I should like to pay credit to the enormous effort put into this event by David and Robin, who was Quizmaster. Patti and Keith gave essential support with refreshments. Although I didn’t participate, I was around during the event and can report that there was a great atmosphere of friendship and pleasure generated by the occasion which was attended by 12 teams of 4 from four Phoenix Clubs in the Stafford area. Our members enjoyed an outing to Bridgnorth Garden Centre, followed by a carvery and entertainment at THE DOWN INN. We received excellent feedback on the quality of the food and some of our members enjoyed the after lunch boogieing too!

Our members enjoyed their CHRISTMAS themed session with Aby Kate, followed by coffee & cake in the Bod.
25 Phoenix members really enjoyed their Saturday Singles Christmas Lunch at The Moat House on Dec 10th. We had the Trussell Suite to ourselves complete with a roaring log fire, Christmas crackers, an excellent Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and even celebrated one of the diner’s birthdays. It was so good we instantly rebooked the venue for next Christmas.

Annual General Meeting November 2022
Many thanks to members who attended the AGM yesterday. Everyone enjoyed the talk by our Speaker, Joanne Massey, about her life working for Lord Lichfield at Shugborough Hall. Thanks to Patti & Keith and their team of helpers for providing the seasonal refreshments.
