BBC PHILHARMONIC ‘NEW WORLD’, VICTORIA HALL, HANLEY – 7.30 pm FRIDAY 29th MARCH 2019
This concert brings the BBC Philharmonic to the Victoria Hall playing one of the best loved symphonies in the classical repertoire, Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 ‘The New World’. The programme includes Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and begins with Debussy’s Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune – a programme not to be missed. The soloist in the Beethoven concerto is Vivian Hagner and the Conductor is Rory Macdonald. Seats are in the circle and will cost £35.00 pp, which includes ticket price, coach fare and driver’s gratuity. I am pleased to announce that the Singing for Pleasure Group will be able to restart on the third Wednesday morning of the month starting in September under the leadership of Carol Wilkes and with Zoe Bonnell as pianist. The dates will be 19th September, 17th October, 21st November and the 19th December from 10 am to 11.30 am.
Pat has arranged a holiday at WARNERS NIDD HALL HOTEL, a grade 11 listed mansion in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, yet only a few minutes from Harrogate.
